GEOList Summary: Seeking Names of Exemplary Agencies
Can you help point me in the right direction? To inform our planning here at Iowa West Foundation, we want to survey/scan exemplary initiatives and agencies in several categories: - Comprehensive community initiatives, especially in - Child, youth & family development - Urban neighborhood and/or rural community transformation - Community development corporations - Community development intermediaries - Financial or otherwise - Nonprofit management support organizations - Volunteer centers Iowa West Foundation serves southwestern Iowa and eastern Nebraska (Omaha-Council Bluffs MSA, Pop. 800,000) with a current grants budget of $20 million. I’ve scanned general best-practices literature on CCIs on the Web – summarized briefly below (anyone want a 20-page paper?) – and am now looking for exemplary organizations to study and perhaps visit. Can you suggest a few? Thank you for your time and consideration!
