GEOList Summary: Return on investment statistics?
Hi – Can anyone point me to any known and documented “return on (social) investment” statistics that pertain to programs for children and youth, (ECD, health, high school graduation rates, college acceptance, literacy, etc) I’m looking for things like: Immunizations are not only a good idea medically, but also financially. According to Center’s for Disease Control research: · Every dollar spent on immunizations saves over $6 in medical costs that would be incurred without immunizations. · When missed work and other indirect costs are added, this goes up to $18 of savings for every $1 invested in immunizations. I’ve heard a generic – college graduates earn $1M more over their lifetime than high school graduates, but don’t have any attribution for it. I know there are issues with trying to give hard and fast quantifications. Just trying to see what’s floating around out there.
