GEOList Summary: Professional Development Opportunities for Administration, Finance and IT Staff
At Oak Foundation, we are continuing to grow our grant making budgets whilst maintaining a compact staff team. For administration staff (including those working in IT, Finance and Grant Administration), this can mean limited opportunities for career growth or promotion. We are therefore looking at ways to continue to motivate staff and give them opportunities for professional development. We have read forum discussions on this subject, but these often focus on programme staff, who may have more opportunities for professional development specific to the fields they work in. Can anyone share how they approach professional development for administrative staff in their organisation? Maybe this is through trainings, conferences, exchange programmes or other approaches - but the key is to make this relevant and practical for administration staff.
