GEOList Summary: Organizational Assessments
You may know that we are in the midst of an evaluation of the Packard Foundation’s organizational effectiveness grantmaking. This post http://www.ssireview.org/opinion/entry/the_limited_returns_on_fundraising_support_for_nonprofits/ by Paul Connolly at the Stanford Social Innovation Review seems to say that we really should not be funding fund development projects without requiring an organizational assessment first. Up until now we have had a philosophy of encouraging organizations to decide for themselves what they need. What do you think??
