GEOList Summary: How and Who Approves a Grant Application
Does your foundation have a formal strategy regarding who makes the decision on grant applications, how & who approves the grant applications? Or perhaps it is the same list of “deciders” for all of your grants. In particular I was wondering if the way it is handled has anything to do with the size of the grant? The larger the grant size the more involved the process for approval is? Or is there a graduated process such that foundation staff recommends a docket of proposals to a Board for approval, the CEO (or other staff?) has approval authority up to a certain amount, etc.)? Any insights would be helpful.
