GEOList Summary: Grantmaking Policies Regarding 501(c)(3)s
We are reviewing our grant making policies, and would invite feedback on two specific questions: Does your foundation require an applicant to have its own 501-c-3 status to be eligible to compete for funds? (That is, it provides a letter of determination from the IRS or some other documentation of 501-c-3 status that has its name on it) If not, and the organization can apply as part of a larger entity with 501-c-3 status, does the larger organization have to be the ‘official applicant’?
