GEOList Summary: Grantmaking Methodologies
At the Wikimedia Foundation, we are experimenting more and more in hosting participatory, consensus-driven grantmaking avenues. We are wondering, though, the range of conducting grantmaking. It would be great to hear some examples of organizations anywhere along the fully-participatory to fully-autocratic spectrum! Some specific questions: - How (if at all) do you engage community in the grantee selection? - What decisions/process points (if any) reside fully within your organization? - What is your rationale for this methodology?
