GEOList Summary: Grant Agreements and Product Ownership
The Retirement Research Foundation (RRF) is interested in learning how other foundations determine who owns grant products and deliverables (i.e. reports, training materials, publications, or other materials produced with as a result of grant funds). We are interested in finding ways to ensure that products produced and “owned” by the grantee are disseminated in ways that benefit wider communities or fields. But we have found that this can be a challenge, especially when collaboration or leadership transitions are involved. Does your foundation have any standard language or procedures in place to ensure that all parties are clear on the front-end about who ultimately “owns” a product? Any examples or insights would be appreciated.
